Manager Hardware Design and Development

Key responsibilities include:
1. Strategic responsibilities: –
• Design and Development confines to environment. Transforming concepts into prototypes for testing, validating and improvement for ultimately mass volume Production. Designing complete system, processes, methodologies as well as every component to enhance the overall performance for the customer.
• This position envisions product development and manages projects through completion
• Analyses designs and develops hardware enhancements, testing, verification and validation
• New modules; manages development projects from initial design through testing while providing strategic management direction
• Experienced in all the phases of Hardware Development Life Cycle including requirements analysis, component selection, design, development, testing, compliance & support and documentation.
• Having experience in Analog, Digital and mixed-signal board design consumer/industrial markets
• Work closely with PMT, FW, SW and Management teams and build a strong sustainable HW team in the company
• Work with manufacturing partners and make sure production happens smoothly with less issues.
Functional responsibilities: –
• Interacted with Layout Designers for Component logical placement, Power Plane creation, and PCB Designing.
• On-Board Power distribution/management design with DC-DC Switching regulators & LDO
• Development of product in co-ordinating with PCB and mechanical CAD, signal integrity, thermal and power design, safety, EMC, EDVT, and NEBS.
• Involved in supporting proto build, pilot build, and mass production.
• Assisting product engineering and global supply chain team in value engineering, BOM costing and optimization
• Vendor coordination for design & development, PCB fab, and Assembly house.
• Ability to rapidly plan, organizes, prioritize work, grasp new concepts and meet deadlines.
• Mandatory Technical Skills set: Knowledge of Cadence or Altium Good experience in High-Speed board Design Knowledge of interfaces like PCI-E Express, Ethernet, SGMII, RGMII Knowledge of Video and Audio Interfaces Knowledge of Wifi, BT and Zigbee
• Knowledge on interfacing contact and contactless smartcards, magnetic card, FPS, IRIS etc
• Experience is working on EMV, PCI-PTS based designing of POS devices
• Product architecture experience based on different SoC.
• ARM Microcontroller Experience – TI, i.Mx, Qualcomm, Mediatek, Renesas, Xilinx, Altera FPGA.
• Experience in High speed design like DDRx, PCIe, MIPI, LVDS interfaces
• Audio and Video Design Experience – Cameras, LCD, HDMI, NTSC/CVBS
• Battery operated product design experience •
• Experience in Multi-layer PCB Layout design approach & design reviews, SI knowledge.
• Exposure to design tools – ORCAD, Allegro / Mentor Graphics
• Product qualification / Compliances test experiences
• Experience in quality product release to customers
To qualify for the role, you must have: –
• Qualification – B.E (E& C, Instrumentation) or relevant field
• Total exp 10+ yrs. in Embedded product development industry, working with micro ATM, POS devices is an added advantage. Should be a solutions expert in fintech industry.
• Product life cycle of at least 3-4 embedded product from requirement gathering, specification to release to manufacturing
• Well -versed with documentation control and understanding of Hardware, Software/Firmware and Mechanical Engineering files.

• Well- versed with Version control and maintenance of Hardware Engineering files etc..
• Files folder structure management and version control of all documents and releases
• Should be familiar with product version control and Manufacturing Transition Documents
• Take end-to-end ownership of the product HW design and development requirements, define the product vision, and drive the implementation of the overall product roadmap.
